The Herr Family | Extended Family Session | Elizabethtown, PA

A few weeks back I received a message from Kate saying she grew up with my sister and was looking to book an extended family session for her laid-back, crazy-fun, family reunion. I vaguely remembered the name Kate Herr from my childhood, but with my sister being 7 years older than me it can sometimes be hard to remember those kinds of things.

So when I showed up to the Elizabethtown Fun Fort to photograph her family I immediately recognized her. Fun fact: Kate gave me my pet hamster, Quinn, when I was a little angsty teenager. I mean how could you forget someone that gives you a real life hamster?

Kate had a vision for their family session and the most important factor was to capture the fun-loving spirit of her family. Something I can definitely get behind! Since we had such a large group and a bunch of kiddos that wanted to get in the pool ASAP we stuck to the traditional poses and snuck in a few fun ones here and there. I think having the kids make a few silly faces helped make up for the fact that I was keeping them from a day of swimming. It was a hot one... I feel ya, kiddos!

And a huge congrats to the newest soon-to-be member of the clan! They recently had an engagement in their family, so of course, we had to sneak in a few couples portraits at the end to celebrate!
