Lauren + Farai | Happy Valley Brewing Company | State College, PA
Some love stories don’t follow the traditional script—and those are often the most beautiful. Lauren and Farai’s journey together has been anything but conventional, and documenting their wedding at Happy Valley Brewing was such a meaningful experience for me.
Seven years ago, Lauren and Farai became parents to their sweet son, Jay—before they were in a relationship. Life had other plans, though. As time passed and they got to know each other more deeply, their connection grew into something solid, rooted in friendship, respect, and love. They welcomed their second child, Daisy, not long before tying the knot, and watching their family grow has been an incredible privilege.
I've been photographing Lauren since her first maternity session, so being there for their wedding day felt like showing up for a dear friend. We've shared so many milestones together, and getting to capture this one—the big, joyful celebration—was such an honor.
The day was simple, relaxed, and true to them. Farai started his morning on the golf course with his closest friends and family, while Lauren spent the early hours hanging out at an Airbnb with her college girlfriends, soaking in the calm before the day unfolded. They chose to get ready together at home—no big production, just peaceful, meaningful moments between partners. That set the tone for everything that followed.
The celebration at Happy Valley Brewing was filled with warmth, laughter, and genuine happiness. It wasn’t about the bells and whistles—it was about love, family, and the life they've built together.
Lauren and Farai, thank you for trusting me with your story all these years. Watching your love grow and getting to capture this chapter of your journey was such a gift. Here's to all the joy still to come.
