There’s something really special about getting the whole family together. Especially when everyone’s coming from different places to celebrate someone who means so much to all of them.

This extended family session was all about Grandma and her 60th birthday. While the family is spread out across different cities, Philadelphia is home base for her, which made it the perfect place to gather, slow down for a bit, and soak in some time together. We met in a rented studio, which gave us a cozy, relaxed space to document everything from the big group shots to the smaller, in-between moments, grandkids sneaking hugs, siblings laughing like no time had passed, and Grandma right in the center of it all.

Sessions like this always have a little bit of everything: a touch of chaos, a lot of love, and so many fleeting moments that deserve to be remembered. It’s not just about getting everyone looking at the camera—it’s about capturing the feeling of being together, especially when that doesn’t happen every day.

After our time in the studio, the celebration continued with a dinner cruise aboard the Spirit of Philadelphia. Such a fun and memorable way to keep the party going! Good food, city views, and a whole lot of toasting to 60 incredible years. It was an honor to capture this chapter for such a wonderful family and to help freeze a moment in time that they’ll always be able to come back to.
