This winter maternity session with Ted and Laura was one of those cold but completely worth it kind of days. It had snowed just the day before, leaving everything dusted and quiet in that way only winter can manage. The air was freezing, cheeks were rosy within minutes, and we took plenty of warm-up breaks—but the softness of the fresh snow and the calm winter light made it all feel extra special. There’s something about documenting such a joyful season of life against a winter backdrop that feels incredibly intimate and timeless.
My husband, Joe, tagged along for this one and fully embraced his role as coat-holder and moral support (truly the MVP of the day). Having friends in front of my camera always makes sessions feel more relaxed, and Ted and Laura leaned into the moment with so much warmth despite the cold. This season of waiting, paired with a snowy winter landscape, felt like the perfect way to tell their story—and I’m so glad we braved the chill to capture it.
